The Egyptian Minister of Civil Aviation holding an official visit to London to boost the mutual cooperation in the Aviation sector.

Dr. Sameh Elhefny, Minister of Civil Aviation, headed to London on February 2, 2025, accompanying by a high-level delegation. This visit aims to enhance the mutual technical cooperation and promote investments between Egypt and the United Kingdom in the aviation sector ,focusing on aviation, technology and infrastructure development.

 

This visit is a response to a joint invitation from the British Embassy in Cairo, in cooperation with the Egyptian-British Chamber of Commerce (EBCC) and the British Egyptian Business Association (BEBA)

 

The Visit Agenda includes intensive meetings between Aviation experts and stakeholders from both sides discussing technical fields of the industry to explore the suitable ways to boost the mutual collaboration in this potential market , in addition to holding some high-level ministerial meetings.

 

Dr. Elhefny is scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting with his British counterpart, Mr. Mike Kane, to reinforce the strategic partnerships between the two countries. Additionally, he will meet with officials from major UK companies specialized in Aviation, discussing different potential topics such as airport development, fleet modernization and smart technological solutions.

 

The minister emphasized that this visit is a part of the ongoing fruitful collaboration between the two countries in different fields, especially the civil aviation sector, which is currently experiencing a rapid growth in the region.

 

The visit also seeks to attract British investments towards developmental projects in Egypt, particularly in modernizing the civil aviation sector and enhancing national companies like EGYPTAIR and Air Cairo.

 

Furthermore, the aforementioned discussions will focus on the British private sector participation in the Egyptian aviation sector and highlight structural reforms undertaken by the Egyptian government.

 

Dr. Elhefny noted that these meetings align with Egypt’s Vision 2030 goals for sustainable development, emphasizing civil aviation’s vital role in boosting the national economy and increasing tourism traffic.

 

The UK continues to be one of Egypt’s key trading partners in Europe, as the British companies are also investing in various sectors, including energy, transport, and communication sectors. This fruitful visit is expected to result in signing several memorandums of understanding (MOUs) that outline future cooperation frameworks for joint projects beneficial to both countries.
