Ahmed Ghoneim: The Grand Egyptian Museum Is a Global Message That Tells the Story of Egyptian Civilization through a Modern Approach Aligned with International Standards

Dr. Ahmed Ghoneim, Chief Executive Officer of the Grand Egyptian Museum, affirmed that the museum represents an integrated civilizational message that Egypt presents to the world. He stressed that it is not limited to being a landmark for displaying antiquities, but rather serves as a comprehensive global platform that narrates the story of Egyptian civilization through a modern approach aligned with the latest international museum display standards.

This came during the Suhoor hosted by the British Egyptian Business Association (BEBA), with the participation of Dr. Ahmed Ghoneim, Chief Executive Officer of the Grand Egyptian Museum Authority, where he outlined the museum’s vision and its role in enhancing Egypt’s soft power and reinforcing the country’s cultural standing globally.

Ghoneim explained that the museum is the largest in the world dedicated to a single civilization and houses an exceptional collection of unique archaeological treasures, foremost among them the complete collection of King Tutankhamun, which is being displayed in its entirety for the first time in one location. This provides visitors with an unprecedented cultural and visual experience that reflects the depth and uniqueness of ancient Egyptian civilization.

He added that the museum’s design incorporates the latest technologies in display, lighting, and visual storytelling, enabling visitors to embark on an extended journey spanning thousands of years, showcasing the development of ancient Egyptian civilization across various political, religious, and artistic fields through a modern museum experience that combines knowledge with visual engagement.

He noted that the museum’s strategic location near the Giza Pyramids gives it an exceptional symbolic dimension, where Egypt’s ancient history meets the Egyptian state’s vision for the future. He affirmed that the museum will remain a living testament to the ingenuity of the Egyptian people and their continuous ability to create and inspire awe throughout the ages.

Dr. Ahmed Ghoneim concluded his remarks by emphasizing that the Grand Egyptian Museum represents Egypt’s gift to the world and a new symbol of national pride, reflecting Egypt’s cultural and tourism standing on the international stage and strengthening its presence as a global civilizational destination that brings together history and modernity.
